11.08.2003 Beaches of Amsterdam
The continuous hot weather is drawing people to the beach and these days you don’t even have to leave town for it. Like Paris, Amsterdam has its own beaches now. After Blijburg, we decided to give Amsterdam Plage a try. Big disappointment: we didn’t like the atmosphere and there was a horrible stench of stagnant water all over the place, so not much later we ended up at our old favourite summer-hangout Nemo beach. Great view of the city, relaxed atmosphere, air mattresses and cushions to sit on and lounge music in the background (so pass?, I know, but who still wants to be hip anyway?). A cold Amstel bright went just perfectly with all this.
